Privacy Policy

Grubie Launcher is an open-source Minecraft launcher. This page explains what information the launcher may process or store, and which external services it connects to when you use its features.

In short

  • Grubie Launcher does not sell personal data.
  • Grubie Launcher does not intentionally collect data for advertising.
  • Most launcher data is stored locally on your device unless an online feature is explicitly used.

01Information the launcher may process or store

Depending on the features you use, Grubie Launcher may process or store:

  • local launcher settings
  • selected Minecraft versions
  • modpack information
  • account settings
  • skins
  • worlds
  • launcher preferences

02Services the app may connect to

To provide its features, the launcher may connect to:

  • Microsoft/Mojang services for official Minecraft account authentication
  • Ely.by and Discord authentication providers when selected by the user
  • CurseForge and Modrinth for mods and modpacks
  • Grubie Launcher services and API for launcher features, updates, friends, modpack sharing and server-related features

03The grubielauncher.com website

The site is a separate story, and a much shorter one:

  • No third-party trackers and no analytics cookies.
  • When you open the site, two values go to our own server: where you came from — only the name of the source, like google, discord or a site's address without the page or search words — and the language. The server adds one to a daily counter; nothing about you is recorded.
  • Your browser remembers that source name for 30 minutes (in localStorage), so a reload or a new tab is not counted as a new visit.
  • Pressing Download sends five short values to our own address: the event, the platform, the page, the language and that same source. No IP, no identifier, no history — two visitors are indistinguishable in it.
  • It answers two questions: where people come from, and how many of them reach the download.
  • The download link carries the same page, language and source labels so they show up in the download statistics.
  • If a page fails with an error, the browser sends us a short report: the error text, the technical stack, the page path (without address parameters) and the language. It is kept for a month and is used only to fix the problem.
  • If you sign in on the site, the session is kept in a service cookie on our API domain. It is there for signing in, not for tracking, and it disappears when you sign out.

04Your control over your data

  • You can delete local data by removing the launcher's data folder or with the controls in the launcher itself.
